Annunziata Vestri

Mezzosoprano

Annunziata was born in Ortona, Italy. She holds a bachelor in vocal chamber music from Pescara Conservatory of music, and a Master in vocal performance from Ferrara Conservatory of music.

She has participated in master classes and has worked privately with Regina Resnik, Luciana Serra, Bruno De Simone, Jorges Vas De Carvalho, Daniela Dessì, Renato Bruson, Renata Scotto, Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli and Mirella Freni at the Accademia Pescarese, Accademia Chigiana di Siena, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rom, Accademia di Spoleto and CUBEC (Centro Universale del Bel Canto di Modena).

She has won numerous international competitions including: Zandonai, Caniglia, Spoleto, Battistini, Leoncavallo, Toti Dal Monte, Martinelli – Pertile, Barbieri, Rosetum. She was also a finalist in both, Operalia and Francisco Viñas Competition.

Since she started her career, she has performed several roles such as Carmen (Carmen), Azucena (Il Trovatore), Amneris (Aida), Preziosilla (La forza del destino), Fenena (Nabucco), Margherita (Guglielmo Ratcliff), Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera), Quickly (Falstaff), Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica), Rosa Mamai (L’Arlesiana), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), Irene (Belisario), Tancredi and Isaura (Tancredi), Neris (Medea), Madelon (Andrea Chenier), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Suzuky (Madama Butterfly).

On the concert stage, she has sung Messiah di Haendel, Requiem di Verdi, Requiem di Mozart, Petite Messe Solennelle, IX° Sinfonia di Beethoven, Das Lied von der Erde, Stabat Mater di Pergolesi, Stabat Mater di Dvoràk.

She has performed in important opera houses in Italy and around Europe and Asia: Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Opera Sferisterio Macerata, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Petruzzelli di Bari, Opera Lombardia, Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi, Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Festival Pucciniano in Torre del Lago, and the Opera Houses in Marseille, Montecarlo, Kazan, Schenkenberg, Kiel, Opernfestspiele (St. Margarethen), Wexford Opera Festival, Opera Tatar State Opera and The Bunka Kaikan in Tokio.

She has collaborated with great conductors, including Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Frizza, Donato Renzetti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Bruno Campanella, Corrado Rovaris, Roberto Manfredini, Daniele Callegari, Evelino Pidò, Nello Santi, Daniele Rustioni, Salvo Piro, Puggelli, Delacôte, D. Pasca, Laurence Gilgore, Marc Tardue, Alberto Veronesi, Jean-Luc Tingaud, Hirofumi Yoshida, Massimo Pezzutti, G.Bisanti, Jacques Delacôte, Pinchas Steinberg, Valerio Galli, Rizzari, Andrea Battistoni.

And has sung in productions by stage directors, including Davide Livermore, Carlo Verdone, Ferzan Ozpetek, Pierluigi Pizzi, Hugo de Ana, Alessio Pizzech, Giorgio Pressburger, Henning Brockhaus, Stefano Monti, Mietta Corli, Antonio Calenda, Stefano Vizioli, Yannis Kokkos, Fabio Ceresa, Rolando Panerai, M.Gandini, Daniele Finzi Pasca, Ivan Stefanutti, Calixto Bieito, Joan Aton Rechi, Marina Bianchi, Lamberto Pugelli and Salvo Piro.
