Andrea Ulbrich

Mezzosoprano

Andrea Edina Ulbrich hungarian-italian mezzo born in Budapest. she obtains the degree at Ferenc Liszt University.

After winning some of the most prestigious international singing competitions, such as Dvorak Competition and Belcanto Grand Prix in Bruxelles, she develops a succesfull carrier worldwide.

Some of the most important engagements of the first years are: La Cenerentola in Graz (1995) Carmen in concertante form in Vienna and Berlin, Olga in Onegin in Frankfurt and Berlin and Aida (Amneris), Suor Angelica (Principessa), Don Carlos (Eboli) in Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf.

in 2005 she sings Norma (Adalgisa) in Budapest Opera and Aida (Amneris) in Teatro Regio in Turin in the successfull production directed by William Friedkin and conducted by Pinchas Steinberg and then she sings Trovatore (Azucena) in Dresda Semperoper (cond. Luisi) Trieste Teatro Verdi (2009), Cologne, Tokyo (NNT) and Arena di Verona (the famous Zeffirelli production) in 2010.

In the following years she sings again in Arena di Verona in Nabucco (Fenena), Aida (Amneris) and again Trovatore (Azucena) 

in 2012 she performs again in Trovatore in Toulouse and Aida at Liceu in Barcelona and in 2014 she debuts the role of Herodias in Salome (cond.Steinberg) in Budapest Opera and the role of Gaea in Strauss' Daphne in Budapest palace of Arts. (cond.Kocsis)

From 2016 she sings in Genoa (Carlo Felice, GOG concert season with Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra), and again Trovatore, the Gypsy Baron, Suor Angelica (Principessa) in Budapest Opera and in 2018 the role of Hedwig in Offenbach premiere of Rheinnixen in Budapest Opera.

In March 2019 she sings in a Gala concert with Fabio Armiliato in Opera de Nice Cote d'Azur and in April 2019 she'll debut at Milan La Scala in a concert with Quartetto della Scala.
