Nutthaporn Thammathi

Nutthaporn Thammathi was born in 1988. He was considered to be a Scholarship Student from Mahidol University, Thailand to study at Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria with Univ.Prof. Mario Antonio Diaz Varas.

In October 2010, he had a concert with friends in Fukuoka, Japan which organized and accompanied by Yoshimi Sato. He also won the First Prize in Voice, University Category in the 11th Osaka International Music Competition, Osaka, Japan in October 2010.

In November 2010, he performed as Camille in Franz Lehár famous opera "Die lustige Witwe" at College of Music, Mahidol University, Thailand.

October 2011 until June 2011, he had finished the Scholarship to study Opera Singing at Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria with Univ.Prof. Mario Antonio Diaz Varas under Thai- Austrian Student Scholarships of ASEAN-UNINET.

In June 2013, he had his debut as Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème. He has been invited to sing with Oper im Berg Festival (under the patronage of Grace Bumbry) in many concerts in Austria and Germany including a concert with Grace Bumbry in November, 2013.

In July 2012, after his scholarship study Nutthaporn has won the First Prize, Public Prize Puccini Role Prize and 3 Tenors Prize in the Grandi Voci Voice Competition, Salzburg, Austria.

In January 2014, he had his debut in the new year concert with Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg at Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg,

In March 2014 he performed as Tito in La Clemenza di Tito by Mozart at Mozarteum University and in July 2014 at Fiesole, Italy. In May 2014, as Faust in Faust by Gounod at Mozarteum University. In July 2014, as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini with Bergen Summer Opera in Bergen, Norway. In February 2015 he performed as Nerone in L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi at Mozarteum University.

In April 2015 he had his highly successful debut as Assad in Die Königin von Saba by Karl Goldmark at Theater Freiburg, Germany. In June 2015 he performed as Don José in Carmen by Bizet at Mozarteum University.

In July and October 2015, he sang Assad in Die Königin von Saba by K.Goldmark at the Budapest Opera House. In November 2015 he gave his debut as Nemorino in L’elisir D’amore by Donizetti at Theater Freiburg. In July 2015 he was one of the quarterfinalists of Operalia 2015 The World Opera Competition, founded by Plácido Domingo.

2016/17 Nutthaporn Thammathi returns to Budapest Opera House as Gounod’s Faust and at Theater Freiburg as Blinder Schwertrichter in E.W. Korngold‘s "Das Wunder der Heliane" (with a CD-recording for Naxos label).

In addition to his successful performances as Cavaradossi at Theater Meiningen in 2017/18, Nutthaporn will be performing as Thamos alongside with René Pape and Fatma Said in "T.H.A.M.O.S." a new production of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation and as the tenor solo in Davide Penitente by Mozart in Mozart Week 2019 with Rolando Villazón as the Artistic Director of the music festival.

The 2018-19 season will bring his role debut as Lohengrin, and he will return to Konzerthaus Freiburg for concert performances and a CD recording of Schreker’s Das Spielwerk.
