Born in Padua, Francesco Rosa studied music in Italy: piano, organ, composition and conducting. He specialized in composition with Maestro Wolfgango Dalla Vecchia and in conducting with Maestro Emil Tchakarov.
Soon after that he began his job as accompanist in many Italian and foreign theaters, such as:
Comunale di Bologna, Teatro la Fenice di Venezia, Arena di Verona, Opera di Roma, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Festival Pucciniano di Torre del Lago, Opera Giocosa di Savona, Comunale di Mantova, Bassano Opera Festival, Petruzzelli di Bari, Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Padova, Rovigo, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Opera di Nantes (F), Lugano (CH), Real di Madrid (E) etc., working with conductors such as Daniel Oren, Richard Bonynge, Nello Santi, Maurizio Arena, Angelo Campori, Peter Maag, Donato Renzetti, Gianfranco Masini, Massimo de Bernart.
At the same time he performed in recitals, accompanying several international artists like Katia Ricciarelli, Mara Zampieri, Raina Kabaivanska, Lucia Valentini, Paolo Gavanelli, Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci, Maria Luisa Nave, Giuseppe Giacomini, Gianfranco Cecchele, Mariella Devia, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Juan Diego Florez etc.
His activity as a conductor began in 1994, at the Teatro Municipal de Vigo Spain with Rigoletto and Il Barbere di Siviglia.
Later on he conducts at the following theatres: Padua, Cagliari, Treviso, Rovigo, Venedig, Bologna, Arena di Verona, Macerata Festival, Triest, Rom, Neapel, Palermo, Sassari, Salerno, Parma, Florenz und ausländische Nantes, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Suntory Halle und die Neue National Theater Tokyo, Otsu, Osaka, Nagoya, Belgrad, Kiew, Bukarest, Constanta, Timisoara, Nantes, Nizza, Monte Carlo, Sofia, Maribor, Ljubljiana, Skopje, Kiew, Dnepropetrowsk, Odessa, Ekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Peking, Guangzhou, Shenzhen.
In more than twenty years of career, he conducted also the following orchestras: Veneta Philharmonic, Filarmonica Marchigiana, Arturo Toscanini Orchestra, Lecce Symphony, Tokyo Philharmonic, Russian Philharmonic, Hermitage Orchestra St. Petersburg, Moskau Philharmonic, Russian Philharmonic, Moskauer Conservatory Orchestra, Jugend Ural Philharmonic Orchestra
From 2000 to 2003 he was the only assistant of Maestro Daniel Oren. He worked with him, preparing orchestras and singers at some of the most important theaters in the world (Opera Bastille, Theatre du Chatelet, Metropolitan Opera New York, Tokyo Suntory Hall etc).
From June 2004 to July 2008, he was „Direttore musicale residente ed altro Maestro“ at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
Since 2008 he is guest conductor at the National Opera Sofia (Bulgaria). In season 2016/17 he has conducted two big productions of Verdi’s “La forza del destino” and Bellini’s “Norma” there and also Puccini’s “Tosca” and Delibes “Lakmè” follow.
In January 2017 he made his debut at Wiener Staatsoper with “La fanciulla del West” by Giacomo Puccini.
