Acclaimed for the expansive colors, rich texture of her voice, soprano Meagan Miller's compelling stage presence, intelligently nuanced portrayals and varied repertoire have been applauded at such distinguished opera houses as the Hamburg State Opera, New National Theatre Tokyo, New York's Metropolitan Opera, Opera Monté Carlo, Théatre du Capitôle Toulouse, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Washington National Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, and Opernhaus Zürich, among others.
Highlights of last season include Marta in the acclaimed new production of D'Albert's Tiefland in Toulouse and Minnie in the landmark Fanciulla del West at the Michigan Opera Theater. Other recent events include her role debut as Senta in Zürich's Der fliegende Holländer, Brünnhilde in Teatro Massimo di Palermo's new production of Siegfried, Sieglinde in Die Walküre at Washington National Opera, Oper Leipzig and Lucerne, Strauss' Ariadne in Berlin, Beijing, Warsaw, and Vienna, Marie/Marietta in Korngold's Die tote Stadt in Hamburg, Boston and Tokyo, the Kaiserin in the Metropolitan Opera's Die Frau ohne Schatten, Strauss' Daphne at the Wiener Staatsoper, her role debut as the Marschallin in a new production of Der Rosenkavalier in Breslau, Minnie in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West in Palermo, and Monte Carlo, plus orchestral concerts of Strauss Lieder and Mahler's 8th Symphony.
Upcoming projects include further performances of Sieglinde and Senta, plus role debuts of Wagner's Elsa and Isolde.
An accomplished orchestral soloist, recitalist and noted interpreter of new music, Ms. Miller has premiered numerous works written specifically for her voice, including works by Libby Larsen, Robert Beaser, Thomas Cipullo, Christopher Berg, Niccolo Athens and Russell Platt.
A National Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and graduate of New York's Juilliard School, the soprano is the winner of numerous competitions and awards.
