Bass / Bassbaritone

Bass Rocco Cavalluzzi, born in Campobasso, first studied singing in his town and then perfected himself with Marina Gentile and Sherman Lowe. He attended the "Accademia Rodolfo Celletti" in Martina Franca, made his debut as the winner of the competition in Tenerife at the Alidoro in La Cenerentola with "Opera Estudio de Tenerife" at the Auditorio de Tenerife and was a member of the "Accademia della Scala di Milano" in the 2016 seasons / 17 and 2017/18. Here he received the Paolo Montarsolo scholarship. As the winner of the “Toti dal Monte” competition, he made his debut as Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Comunale di Treviso and in Ferrara in the 2017/18 season.

At La Scala in Milan he sang regularly in productions for schools and in concerts such as in Rossini's Cenerentola, Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Stabat Mater, he was also Deputato Fiammingo in Don Carlo under the baton of M.W. Chung and directed by P. Stein in La Scala and as Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova. Other important debuts in 2018 included the Anna Bonitatibus & Friends concert at Wigmore Hall in London with Italian arias and the role of Dulcamara in L'Elisir d'amore with the Accademia della Scala di Milano, with which he also performed at the Gran Theater de Geneve made its debut.

In the 2018/19 season he sang at La Scala in Milan as Ourskan in Cherubini's Ali Babà e i 40 ladroni under Paolo Carignani and Liliana Cavani. This was followed by the debut at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli as Roberto in Don Checco and Lord Sidney in Un Viaggio a Reims at the Auditorio de Tenerife.

Other highlights in recent years have been his debut as Pancrazio in Cestis Le Nozze in sogno at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Monterone in Rigoletto at the Teatro Verdi di Busseto, the Graf in Paisiellos Nina Pazza per amore at the Festival Paisiello in Taranto and at the Opera Giocosa in Savona, Casellas La Donna Serpente under Fabio Luisi and De Giosas Don Checco both on CD for Dynamic and Noye in Britten's Noye's Fludde at the Festival della Valle D'Itria in Martina Franca.

In the summer 2019, he sang again Innsbruck Festival of Early Music as Golo in Cestis La Dori. The recording won the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik“. In November 2019 he made his debut at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo in Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia and sang with the theaters of Opera Lombardia as Gessler in Rossini's Guglielmo Tell. He made his debut at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice as Mangiafuoco in Valdinoni's Pinocchio.
