Tiziana Caruso


Tiziana Caruso was born in Catania. She began her vocal studies with Maestro A. Annaloro, completing them with Mrs B. Baglioni. She has achieved recognitions in many competitions and awards such as “Iris Adami Corradetti”, “Rocca delle Macie”, “Ottavio Ziino” and the first prize at the “Voci Verdiane” Città di Busseto in 2007.

In 2013 she received the prestigious prize “Marcella Pobbe” as the best Soprano of the year.

In 2019/20 she will sind as Turandot in Dubai with the Shangai Opera House and in Italy with Rete Lirica Marche in a production of Pier Luigi Pizzi.

Recent engagements included Tosca at the Opera Royal de Wallonie in Liege conducted by G. Gelmetti and directed by C. Servais and Turandot at Auditorium Tenerife conducted by G. Bisanti and directed by G. Frigeni

In the season 2017/18 she sang as Minnie in Puccini’s La fanciulla del West conducted by D. Renzetti, Busoni’s Turandot conducted by D. Renzetti and directed by D. Krief and Santuzza in Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana conducted by M. Angius at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. Previous performances were: Manon in Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Petruzzelli of Bari and the role debut as Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari.

Tiziana Caruso is one of the most requested Turandot and has already performed this role in Tokyo with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Opéra Royal in Liege (conductor P. Arrivabeni, director J. Cura), at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari (conductor P. Bisanti), at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, with the Arena di Verona (director F. Zeffirelli, conductor A. Battistoni), and in concert at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall and Suntory Hall (Tokyo), and at the Auckland Town Hall. A CD of the the concert at the Suntory Hall with the Tokio Philharmonic Orchestra was released and distributed by the Nippon Columbia. She also appeared in this role at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.

Among the other roles she sang as Leonora in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genova and at the Theatre Csokonai in Debrecen, awarded as best production in Hungary; Anna in La Jura at the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, Abigaille in Nabucco at the Arena di Verona (Kovatchev/De Bosio) and at the Circuito Lirico Lombardo in the theatres of Cremona, Pavia, Como, Brescia, at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste; Tosca at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, in Rovigo directed by H. De Ana, at the Detroit Opera House conducted by Carella, at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, at the National Opera in Athens, at the Korea National Opera in Seoul, at the La Fenice of Venezia (conductor D. Callegari, director R. Carsen), Aida at the Teatro Regio di Parma conducted by A. Fogliani, at the Opera House Herodion of Athens, at the Baltimore Opera House (conductor A. Licata); Lady Macbeth in Macbeth at the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi, at the Teatro Verdi of Trieste, at the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genova, and at the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona (conductors Bisanti, Battistoni and Wellber, director H. Brockhaus); Desdemona in Otello at the Toronto Opera House (director P. Curran, conductor P. Olmi), Amelia in Simon Boccanegra at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo; Leonora in Il Trovatore at the Teatro Ventidio Basso of Ascoli; Elvira in Ernani in the theatres of Piacenza, Modena and Ravenna (conductor G. Bisanti, director M. Gasparon); Magda in La Rondine at the Detroit Opera House (conductor M° S. Mercurio); Manon in Manon Lescaut at the Prague Statni Opera, awarded as best soprano of the Czech Republic.

She has worked with renowned conductors such as P. Arrivabeni, J. Kovatchev, G. Carella, D. Callegari, A. Fogliani, A. Licata, G. Bisanti, A. Battistoni, O. M. Wellber, P. Olmi, S. Mercurio, J.
