German Soprano Sophia Brommer concluded her musical studies at Munich’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater and at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding.
First engagements included the Prinzregententheater Munich, Theater Augsburg, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Theater Münster and Staatstheater Wiesbaden among others. From 2014 until the 2016/2017 season she was a member of Opera Graz where she gained huge successes with several leading parts (such as Konstanze/Die Entführung aus dem Serail, the title part in Verdi’s Luisa Miller, Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette and most recently Magda in Puccini’s La Rondine).
Other parts that Sophia Brommer has sung with big success include the title parts in Berg’s Lulu and in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor as well as Olympia/Giulietta in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann (in May 2017 with the Royal Danish Opera House Copenhagen), Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata, Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen, Liu’ in Puccini’s Turandot, Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute as well as Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto.
Besides, Sophia Brommer is a regular guest in concert halls as she is dedicating herself to Liedgesang as well. Numerous concerts brought her to Germany, many parts of Europe, Asia and Canada. Concert venues where she has appeared include WDR Köln, the German Radiophilharmony Kaiserslautern, Konzert-Theater Bern (Switzerland), Bavarian Radio Orchestra Munich, the Festival d’Opéra Québec, the Orchestra Philharmonique Royal de Liège (Belgium) among others.
She has worked with numerous conductors such as Ulf Schirmer, Fréderic Chaslin, Christoph Eschenbach, Jukka Pekka Sarastre, Jonathan Nott, Dirk Kaftan among others.
