German Soprano Katrin Adel was born in Nürnberg into a family with musical background.
2014/15 she had big success as the Foreign Princess in a new production of Dvoraks Rusalka at Staatstheater Schwerin, as Isabella in Wagners Das Liebesverbot at Teatro Verdi Trieste, as Elsa in Lohengrin at the State Opera Sofia and as Tosca at the Opera Festival St. Margarethen..
2015/16 she sang highly successfull Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer at Theater Heidelberg, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at Staatstheater Nürnberg and again the Foreign Princess in Rusalka at Staatstheater Schwerin.
Starting in 2016/17 she is joining the ensemble of the Staatstheater Nürnberg, singing Sieglinde, Wozzeck-Marie, Hanna Glawari and Tosca.
Already during her studies she joined the Choir of the Staatstheater Nürnberg before completing her musical education in Vienna under Irina Gavrilovici.
First engagements brought her to concerts in Austria, Switzerland and Romania (e.g. at the Music Festival Sighisoara, Transsylvania, she gave an acclaimed recital with works by Janacek and Viktor Ullman), in November 2008 she recorded songs of Ullmann with the Rundfunksinfonieorchester München for German television.
In 2009 Katrin Adel was one of the prize winners at the Rheinsberg Festival where she gave her debut with the role of Isabella in Richard Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot.
2009 - 2011 Katrin Adel was member of the Landestheaters Linz, where she sang a.o. Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and Leonora (Il Trovatore).
2010 she sang 4. Magd in Strauss´ Elektra under the baton of M° Christian Thielemann with the Münchner Philharmonikern at the Festival Baden-Baden (also on television and DVD).
In July 2011 Katrin Adel made her successful debut at the Seefestspielen Mörbisch as Saffi (Der Zigeunerbaron).
2011/12 she was praised for her debuts as Senta (Der Fliegende Holländer) at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and as Elsa (Lohengrin) at the Theater Kiel.
Since 2012/13 Katrin Adel was member of the Theater St. Gallen (Switzerland) where she was highly acclaimed as Ariadne in a new production of Strauss´ Ariadne auf Naxos, as Catalanis La Wally, as Amelia in Verdis Un Ballo in Maschera, as Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer and in the title part of Ponchiellis La Gioconda
